
Hmong Diaspora Exhibit

On January 22, 2023, an exhibition of vintage Hmong clothing, artifacts, and history exploring the long journey from the mountains of Laos, across the Mekong to the shores of the Mississippi was launched on the second floor of the La Crosse Public Library - Main Branch. This exhibit will continue to be up through the end of February 2023. Along with this exhibit, a new Spotlight Collections featuring titles by established and emerging Hmong authors across multiple genres debuted, and will be a permanent collection located on the second floor.

While the exhibit is up, there will be a number of programs:
- February 7, 2023 - Exploration of the Hmong Folklore Dab Pog and Xwb Kab: The Origin of Hmong Spiritual Beliefs
- February 19, 2023 - Hmong Diaspora: A Spotlight Collection Exhibit Guided Tour
- February 21, 2023 - A Cloth Story: The History of Hmong People Through Textiles

While the La Crosse Public Library is actively working to provide more materials about, by, and for Hmoob community members, the Archives & Local History Department is interested in documenting local Hmoob history for future generations.
