Rockland
Officers of the Town of Burns organized the Rockland Cemetery Association in 1903 for the purpose of arranging for and maintaining a cemetery in Rockland. The prominent farmers interested in the Association then were H. M. Phillips, Moses Roberts, W. M. Balch, C. Richmond, L. F. Gahle, S. J. Williams, D. Travis and E. Hilton.
On Aug. 25, 1905, Mary Jane Travis sold an acre of land [La Crosse County Register of Deeds volume 105 page 639] to the trustees of the Rockland Cemetery Association and the cemetery was officially underway.
