Helgeson Family Cemetery, a small rural private family cemetery, is quitely tucked away on a steep hillside not far off the road in the Town of Onalaska in La Crosse County. It is located on land originally homesteaded in 1853 by Johannes Helgeson, a Swedish immigrant, in the heart of Sweden Coulee.

Heirs of the farm through the years have been Carl, Oscar and Jesse Helgeson, although the town now does the maintainence on the cemetery.

 The cemetery in Feb. 2000 is still surrounded by a small retaining wall built by Carl Helgeson around 1900Carl Helgeson, Johannes' son, is credited with building steps from the farmyard up to the cemetery, as well as a four-foot-high retaining wall around the site to protect and outline the area. Family names of the interred include Helgeson, Solie, Wall, Guldbrandson, Berg and Kommerstad.
