Sacia Family

The Sacia Family Cemetery is located in the Town of Holland, and is near what was once the original Stevenstown. The cemetery can be found on the Donald & Molly Sacia farm just east of the junction of Hwys. T & TT. Members of the Sacia family have owned and operated the farm since 1852.
Married in Milwaukee in 1841, Cordelia Packard and Harmon V. Sacia first lived in Rock River Woods and Galena, Illinois, before settling in La Crosse County, Wisconsin. Cordelia was a 15-year-old at the time of her marriage.
A true pioneer family, the Sacias raised their ten children as La Crosse also developed. Both Harmon and his brother Marion have military markers in addition to the main Sacia monument. Of Harmon & Cordelia's ten children, several are buried here with their parents in the Sacia Family Cemetery:

In addition, an unknown drowning victim of the Black River is also interred in a grave on the Sacia plot.
Harmon passed away in 1893 at 77 years of age. At the time of his wife's death, Mrs. Sacia was 81 years old and had lived in the vicinity for 57 years. Her obituary in the November 14, 1907, La Crosse County Record stated:
Mrs. Sacia was generally beloved on account of her estimable qualities. Up to the time of her death she evinced an energy and keen mental capacity wonderful for one of her years.
