Summary Information

Abstract
Photocopy of Eugene C. Whitney's autobiographical sketch includes the arduous journey of coming to La Crosse County, Wisconsin, in 1854 from New York State with his parents. At age 17, he enlisted with the 51st Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. After the war, most of his adult life was spent in Oconto, Wisconsin, in the lumber industry. The sketch was written November 12, 1914.
