Biographical Note

Marcellus Greenwood, son of James Greenwood and Thankful Gould Greenwood, was married to Clara E. Bradish and became the father of Frederick (b. 1889- ). Marcellus B. Greenwood (1857-1905) was a banker at the Batavian Bank in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and later managed the Daly Bank and Trust Company at Anaconda, Montana, taking with him many former La Crosse, Wisconsin, residents associated in the banking industry.

The house at 232 South 8th Street in La Crosse, Wiscosnin, was designed by George P. Bradish, brother of Clara and brother-in-law to Marcellus Greenwood, and in 1889 the Greenwoods sold part of their parcel to George Bradish upon which he designed and built his home at 717 Cass Street.

Son Frederick Greenwood also worked as a banker at the Bank of California in Portland, Oregon. Frederick was married to Grace Tucker, and they had no descendants.
