Historical Note

The West Avenue Tourist Camp was located at 2015 West Avenue South and was operated by Emil H. and Lillian Gundlach roughly from 1928. Emil also was the sales manager for the Woven Cotton Padding Mills. Twelve private cabins were available for rent. William G. Long took over the ownership from Gundlach by 1937. It went out of business by 1939/1940.
